Your Home
"Let us accept the proposition that nature is a process, that it is interacting, that it responds to laws representing values and opportunities for human use with certain limitations, and even prohibitions to certain of these."
~ Ian McHarg/ Design with Nature
It is not unusual for a community to establish architectural guidelines. Such guidelines ensure that all homeowners and residents comply with standards of quality and maintain their property to a mutually agreed upon standard. Such guidelines protect the aesthetic and financial values of the entire community.
It is less common for a community to include conceptual designs for homes to be built, as well as restrictions upon certain types of homes being built in various locations.
Extrodinary care has been taken in determining the location of each of the homes within the woodlands and slopes of Madrona Cove.
The ultimate site determined for each of the homes is a result of our natural value driven design approach.
Extensive research and evaluation of all of the natural values, which are a part of this land, has been completed. After mapping the areas of high value as natural process lands, it became clear where it would be suitable to place our homes. Home locations have been determined as part of the overall assessment of the land in determining those areas which must be preserved.
Another criteria in determining the location of new homes was how to do so in such a way that each home fit within the context of the surrounding environment as well as the other homes in the community.
Utilizing the NorthWest Steward's Responsible Rural Design Standards, each home site was substantially evaluated to its’ particular views, solar exposure and potential impact on or from neighboring homes.
We then developed a series of conceptual home designs which will help jumpstart the process of designing your new home.
The concept homes are meant as a guideline for you to use in determining what type of home is best suited for your particular lifestyle needs, desires and the location of your new home. And finally, we have developed a palette of architectural materials and finishes to help further refine your new home.
